Mediation Puts You in Control
The breakdown of a long term relationship is incredibly stressful and challenging. Practical economic concerns are intertwined with complex emotions, children, pets, property and a shared history, recalibrated by the mistrust and miscommunication that can so often accompany a fracturing relationship.
Mediation offers a genuine alternative to the acrimonious, adversarial, 'winner takes all' legal approach where, ultimately, a judge decides your family's future. Instead, mediation engages and includes both parties, working with them to achieve balanced, practical outcomes through effective communication, even when there is a difference of opinion.
And, most importantly, it works. Over 70% of mediation cases result in full or partial agreement, saving money and helping to maintain the civil communication between separating partners that is so essential to co-parenting.

Because everyone is engaged in the mediation process, they are more likely to accept and feel satisfied with the outcome.
Mediation Works
For separating couples, mediation provides a proven alternative to court proceedings where the individual parties make the final decision rather than judges. This allows for creative 'win-win' solutions, increasing satisfaction with the outcome, reducing stress and preserving the communication channels that continue to be vital in family disputes. Some of the main advantages of mediation are:

COST
Mediation avoids high legal costs and court fees. In family cases, free, £500 vouchers may be available.

SPEED
Mediation is quicker than traditional court trials, which often involve long waits for court dates.

CONTROL
In mediation, you and your former partner make the decisions about your family; in court, the judge decides.

CONFIDENTIAL
Discussions in mediation are private and confidential, unlike public court proceedings.

SUCESS RATE
Over 70% of disputes are resolved through mediation, avoiding the need for a final hearing.

SUPPORT
The informal, supportive environment reduces the anxiety associated with legal action.

FLEXIBLITY
Creative "win-win" solutions tailored to the specific needs of the parties that legal rulings may not allow.
